Everyone’s Split Road In Life
The Split Road in everyone’s life. Have you heard of it? It is the most crucial decision making moment of who you want to be in the future. There will be only one chance, no turning back. This Split Road happens only once and it will be right after high school. It is not about your education or people whom you will meet. You will have to decide who you want to be, a person who has a goal and achieving it – or a person who can only be jealous of others while living at his minimum expectation.
I used to be a rebel back in my days in high school. I didn’t fight with anyone or scratch teachers’ car. But I didn’t like to study so I would skip school frequently with my friends and spend time at Cyber Cafe and we spent RM7 – RM10 a day there, usually 5 hours per visit. Soon after, my mom caught me and I felt upset. I knew it was wrong, then I continued my studies until college.
After study period, I made a decision. I want to make history – and in order to make that happens, I want to be successful in my career and be financially free. Today, I made my parents and family members proud! I’m now a Canadian banker for HSBC Bank Canada, currently based in Cyberjaya. If that day, I didn’t make that choice, I might have still been hanging around without thinking about my future.
I know a lot of people make decisions everyday. But this Split Road, is not any ordinary decision. It takes a lot of courage and effort to make it happen. I hope all my readers could understand my message here. Stop for a moment, and think of who you want to be in the future and how you want your parents, family members and friends to think of you. You want to make them proud and jealous of you. Make that happen with both of your hands. Hard work pays.
Here are the photos I took last year winter in Zhongshan, when I went to Macau and China all by myself, to meet my parents who were staying there for contract work (my mom stays there for vacation). Haha!!

Now my parents are in Egypt on contract job basis. My mom, well ~ she is there having fun (vacation) until my dad comes back to Malaysia. Seriously, if I didn’t make a decision to be a better person, I might end up with a bad job and poor future. I’m happy to see my parents being proud of my current success. I will never disappoint them anymore.

Oh my… I’ve been to China almost every year since age 9. Haha!
Been to Macau and Hong Kong, until I could direct myself to anywhere without learning chinese signboards. LOL
I have to work, cannot go to Egypt although my parents asked me to go there for cruise vacation.
Don’t think you want to be at the HOT place on earth. It’s really hot in the day, but freezing at night!

Anyway, I spoke to my mom today, and she said, my dad decided to end his boring job in Egypt by end of this year.
Not sure what my dad will do after this, retire and play with fishes at home everyday – or get back to work in China. Either~

Good for you for making that choice. My split path was when I had to decide if I’m going to continue studying Architecture (which I sux real big time) or changing my course. A lot of people think it was a wrong decision but I gritted my teeth and took the leap. I was never more happy then now
Instead of a mediocre student who can barely pass her subjects, I can now maintain an excellent result each semester. I have more than one job offer already handed to me even before I graduate.
